GIORGIO
The sculpture reinterprets a canvas by Giorgio Morandi in which a cat appears in a completely unexpected way in front of the more traditional bottles. The authors, interacting with the materials and the personal reinterpretation of the lines, relate the painter's avant-garde to the musical path of Giorgio Moroder, producer of electronic music active since the 70s. A series of transparent surfaces has thus been added to Morandi's subjects which, in crossing their lines, draw the missing parts of the original canvas, as if they were the laser effects of the first discos.
The text adapted to the story of Morandi is also overdubbed on the music of Daft Punk / Moroder.
Realization technique
Slab forming, engobing, cooking at 1000 °
Materials
Refractory clay 0.05, self-produced engob, plexiglass.

ORIGINAL TEXT BY GIORGIO MORODER
When I was fifteen, sixteen
when I started really to play the guitar
I definitely wanted to become a musician
It was almost impossible because
The dream was so big
I didn't see any chance because I was living in a little town, I was studying.
And when I finally broke away from school and became I musician
I thought "well I may have a bit of a chance"
Because all I every wanted to do is music but not only play music
But composed music.
At that time, in Germany, in 1969-70, they already had discotheques
So I would take my car and go to a discotheque and
Sing maybe 30 minutes
I think I had about 7-8 songs.
I would partially sleep in the car
Because I didn't want to drive home
And that help me for about almost 2 years
To survive. In the beginning,
I wanted to do a album with the sound of the 50s,
The sound of the 60s, of the 70s
And then have a sound of the future.
And I said: "Wait a second?
I know the synthesizer, why don't I use the synthesizer
which is the sound of the future. "
And I didn't have any idea what to do but I knew I needed a click
So we put a click on the 24 track which was then synch to the moog modular.
I knew that it could be a sound of the future
But I didn't realize how much impact it would be.
My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio.
You want to free your mind about a concept of
Harmony and music being correct,
You can do whatever you want.
So nobody told me what to do,
And there was no preconception of what to do.
TEXT ADAPTED ON GIORGIO MORANDI
When I was fifteen, sixteen
When I started really to move the brush
I definitely wanted to become an artist
It was almost impossible because
The dream was so big
That I didn't see any chance, because I was living in the great Bologna, I was studying.
And when I finally face my teachers and became a modern painter
I thought "well, I may have a little bit of a chance"
Because all I really wanted to do is art
And not only copy classic work, but draw my works
At that time, in France and Spain, in '09, '10, they already had some great artistic movement
So I would take my dreams, would go to an exibition
Carving maybe thirty minutes
I think I had about seven, eight sheets
I would partially sleep in the studio
Because I didn't want to go home
And that helped me for about a couple of years to survive. In the beginning
I wanted to do an quadrennial in the capital city
The mood of the '900
And then have a style of the future
And I thought: "Wait a second
I know the pure line, why don't I use only few colors?
Which is the sound of the future "
And I didn't have any idea what to do but I knew I needed a rhythm
So I put some bottles on the table which was then synced my artistic mood
I knew that it could be a sound of the future
But I didn't realize how much impact would be
My name is Morandi Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio.
Once you free your mind about a concept of
Harmony and of line being correct
